Repair cafés are booked out for months

The demand is there. The volunteers are not.

A typical repair café runs one Saturday a month with a handful of volunteers and a queue that starts before opening.

The most common jobs are cables, small appliances and laptops. Most are fixed with parts that cost less than a coffee.

The constraint is expertise. Training takes years, and the people who have it are ageing out.
